Check before you print

A practical 3D print preflight

Move through three checkpoints: inspect the model in Blokify, verify the exported file, and review every layer in your slicer.

In Blokify

Inspect the model

  • Rotate it and look from every side.
  • Confirm intended parts are connected.
  • Remove accidental or hidden blocks.
  • Check that important details are not too small.

After export

Verify the file

  • Open it in the intended receiving tool.
  • Confirm the complete model appears.
  • Check dimensions and units.
  • Choose an orientation with a stable base.

In the slicer

Review the print

  • Select the correct printer and material.
  • Inspect overhang and support recommendations.
  • Preview layers from bottom to top.
  • Follow the printer maker’s safety guidance.

Troubleshooting

If the preview does not match the idea

A piece is missing

Return to the model and check whether that piece was connected as intended, then export a fresh file.

The size is surprising

Verify units and dimensions in the slicer before changing any printer setting.

The model needs many supports

Try a different orientation or revise unsupported areas in the model. Compare layer previews before deciding.
